Watch this movie. This review is too short. Still too short.
Let me start with the positive things I can say about Gringo: it is a competently made film with passable cinematography, sound, etc. That's it. As for negatives there are many. Although the film is stacked with talented performers they all unfortunately give their worst performances in a long time. The movie was marketed as an action comedy but the finished product was very unfunny and often depressing with the only lines of levity shoehorned in seemingly just for the trailers. The majority of the film is spent on business jargon that most moviegoers wouldn't understand or find interesting. A major plot point is the types of insurance that the main character may or may not have. Don't waste two hours on this totally forgettable "how not to do business" lecture.
The movie achieves a take-it-or-leave-it watchability without being much to look at, and as a nominal thrill ride, it’s underpowered.
