The American state project; Florida ”The Sunshine State”Why did I choose Florida? Well, thats quite a easy question to answer. Becouse of that I’ve heard a lot about this sunny state and I think it would be fun to find out more! Then I also heard about the city Miami that I will write more about in this work. Cause when a was little girl I often watched the Tv program at animalplanet; Animal Cops, Miami. I LOVED that program. Still I love it, but now its just old recordings, and think its sad. Being that, I also like the band Florida a lot. Why the nickname “Sunshine State”?Florida got its nickname Sunshine State of the reason that it have such a warm, subtropical-tropical climate. Its subtropical in the northern and central parts of the state, and a real tropical climate in the south. At the year 1931 June, 29 It was a temperatur record in Florida and the temperatur was 43 °C. There is also a cold record that was set on February, 12, 1899. With a temperatur that was -19°C.The temperatur seldom exceed 38°C but the most usual temperatur is 32°C. In the late autumn and winther seasons the temperatur cools down by a cold front that brings high winds. The temperatur can sink to about 0-15°C. Snow is not common in Florida. This picture shows a typical Florida Beach. How about the tourists?There are many tourists that come to the sunny state to relax and also enjoy the 360-degree horizon. People love the white beaches, blue water and the high palmtrees. People get attracted by Floridas coastline, there are beaches everywhere in Florida, except where the everglades has its turf. Except the beaches, the disneyworld is the biggest draw to the tourists. Railroad tycoon Henry Flagler was the first to recognize Florida as a vacation paradise. How did Florida gets its name?Well, Florida was named as La Florida in 1513 becouse of its profuse of blooming flowers. It was the explorer Ponce de Leon that came with the name. How about the history in Florida?Floridas history is rich. There is a lot of wars, pirates, hurricanes and shipwrecks of treusure in the archive. At first Florida was inhabbited by spanish conquistadors and other people from Spain & France. Also Floridas extensive coastline made it a perceived target during World War II How do Florida look?Much of Florida is on a peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean and the Straits of Florida. Florida is boarded north to the states of georgia and alabama. And on the west at the end of the panhandle, by Alabama its near several caribbean countries.
