Are there any advantages between the two? If you have manual right now, can it be replaced with electric? If so, do you just supply it with power?

A choke valve is sometimes installed in the carburetor of internal combustion engines. Depending on engine design and application, the valve can be activated manually by the operator of the engine (via a lever or pull handle) or automatically by a temperature-sensitive mechanism called an autochoke.
2 Jul 2006 I love my Rover Metro with it's 4 gears (+ reverse) and manual choke. Just pull it out, drive a bit and push it in. Usually I rev the engine up to wake up the neighbours. It's great driving an old car because it's more unique, and it doesn't matter so much if you trash it so you can afford to be more wreckless.
I heard there's a manual "choke" to use when the engine's cold, but I don't know how to correctly use it. So far, I haven't used it at all. Is there any of you who has experience with these old cars with the manual choke? Did your car behaved the same? I'd be interested to hear about your experiences, so that I
Or rather, a mechanical device that richens the fuel mixture while the engine is cold. I could probably convert it to a manual "choke" if that wasn't a colossal waste of time. I'm guessing it is more of a "Dump extra fuel in" device rather than a traditional 'choke' that chokes the airflow though.
Yep, the choke enriches the fuel mixture when the engine is cold. So, when cold (like first thing in morning), pull out (fully) start car and drive off. Over the first mile or so gradually push it back in, you want it "off" as soon as possible as it use a lot more fuel. As a guide, an engine should idle at about 850 rpm
