Matt Brody, a disgraced Olympic swimmer tries to find redemption by filling out one of three spots that have opened up on the Baywatch lifeguard team. He must fight his demons, get Mitch and the rest of the team to see there is more to him, get Summer the girl he likes to reciprocate and keep the beach safe and clean.
In sun-kissed Emerald Bay, the vigorous Lieutenant Mitch Buchannon and Baywatch, his elite team of hand-picked and perfectly tanned lifeguards, protect the bay, keeping both sunbathers and beach lovers safe. However, this summer, two new eager trainees will join the demanding life-saving program, as well as an insubordinate former Olympic swimmer, who are all called to prove their worth on the lifeguard towers just on time when a new synthetic street drug begins to infest the Emerald Bay: the flakka. Without a doubt, this calls for some serious undercover teamwork action, as the badgeless heroes in spandex comb the beach for shady newcomers and nefarious entrepreneurs with hidden agendas of their own. Can Mitch's band save the bay?
The humor of the actors were awful.
This film is not about saving life at the beach, instead of showing of tits and bodies..
The only good thing was the first part where The Rock saved the life of drown surfer.
I would not recommend to watch this, the worst film of Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron & Alexandra
I don't believe the budget of the film to make the public believe spent that big amount & effort for this trash film
I really wanted to like this, but this is one of those movies where the promo clips show the best parts of the movie, as this was left short of expectations. It could have been so much better.
The Good: Most of the acting is good, totally loved Dwayne's quips towards Zac Efron in calling him Boy Band names - hilarious and well executed. Some of the humor was solid
The Bad: Not all the acting was good, not all the execution was solid, and not all of the writing or script was great - - meaning, some cases the jokes were short and some carried on too long, didn't sink into you or grab you or kept you into the character. IMO a lot of mis-fires.
Would have loved to have seen Dwayne throw some of the "The Rock" eyebrow look - especially during the fighting scene in the kid's room.
Would have loved to have seen more beach goers and bikinis and nice girls -- that's part of what Baywatch is about - - bikinis and babes and the 2 main female characters were good but could have had more of that with the public, beach people, parties, etc. I think they missed out on this.
It just lacked depth and good quality script / writing in certain areas. Could have been a great franchise
The film may pretend it’s more sophisticated than the show that spawned it, but its comedic stylings are alarmingly regressive.
