21 Oct 2014 In March of this year, SRAM announced their new Guide brake, which was notable for several reasons: 1) It was the successor to both the XO and beleaguered Elixir four piston brakes 2) Introduction of a brand new lever design, with Swing Link technology replacing taper bore of old 3) The Avid brand was
25 Mar 2014 To achieve these characteristics, the brake utilizes some intelligent engineering, named the Swing link. Thanks to a special cam shape that requires less lever throw to push the pads toward the rotor the Swinglink provides increased control while minimizing deadband, improving modulation of the power.
3 Nov 2014 SRAM Guide RSC brake 9 On the RSC model, the lever pivot uses a sealed cartridge bearing. In the the RS and RSC models, the Guide brakes also feature a new master piston actuation system called Swing-Link; the lever blade drives a small cam/link that in turn pushes the master piston. This system
Less deadband. More positive pad engagement. A new cam system requires less lever throw to push the pads toward the rotor. That's great, but there's more to perfect braking performance than just power. You need control. Many brake systems minimize deadband—but at the cost of modulation. SwingLink solves that with

15 Mar 2017 Several friends of mine have the RS and RSC lines and love them. I think the swing link makes a big difference in power. I had the R on a Yeti I bought for 2 weeks..only because that's how long it took their replacements to arrive in the mail. After riding XT for several years, the R were terrible in my opinion.
