The Edelbrock Performer Series carburetor has conventional Idle Mixture Screws (IMS) that provide a leaner A/F when turned clockwise and richer A/F when turned counter clockwise. The idle air flow is controlled by a conventional screw that opens the Primary Throttles.

Keep in mind that some Holley and all Demon four-barrel carburetors use a four-corner idle-mixture system with four idle-mixture screws. side of the float bowl. Turn the float-level adjustment screw (arrow) clockwise to lower the float level and counterclockwise to raise it.
For example, if the right mixture screw required three complete turns and the left required four, the average is 3 1/2. Back both mixture screws off the body of the carburetor -- turning them counterclockwise with the flat-head -- the average of their original two settings. Re-adjust the air screw so the idle once again falls

Learning how to set air mixture screws on Edelbrock carbs will give you the ability to adjust them like a pro. "Performer Series" and 1 spark plug wire and a power source, and it will tell you the speed of your engine during tuning operation. check Clean a dirty carburetor before starting. Use carb cleaner and a rag to wipe
While it's not advisable to run your engine on such a mixture for very long, it's advantageous to do this when tuning the carburetors. It lets you know exactly where the air-fuel level is. After the screws are turned to give the leanest possible air-fuel mixture, slowly adjust them to make the mixture richer. When the engine runs
Calibrating idle mixture on an Edelbrock carburetor is controlled by equally adjusting the two screws at the front of the carburetor. Turning them out creates a richer mixture and screwing them in makes the idle air-fuel ratio leaner. The goal with any idle setting is a "lean-best" setting - that is, the leanest possible ratio yeilds
The Edelbrock carburetor is one of the simplest carburetors to adjust. With two adjustment screws in the front of the carburetor, you can adjust and tune the carburetor in just a few minutes and have your engine running smoothly. The optimum setting for the Edelbrock carburetor is to run between 550 and 650 rpm. This
