Similar to a finder scope, these guide scopes feature a 1.25" non-rotating helical focuser. The focuser is a standard 1.25" compression ring unit with an external M42 X .75 t-thread. So one can either use the camera's t-thread or a 1.25" nosepiece. These guide scopes have been very popular for guiding a refractor. The 50
25 May 2016 I am helping a friend who owns a CPC1100 with HD Pro wedge and wants to get started in Deep Sky Imaging. Since he is a beginner, I suggested he start guiding with a finderscope converted to guide scope because it's easier than OAG. Anyone convert Celestron 9x50 finderscope to guide

11 Jun 2008 What is the typical folcal lenght of a 9x50 finder? As far as I've understood; the focal length of the guide scope should not be a lot less than the imaging scope. To pick up errors in tracking and drift from bad polar alignment the guide scope needs to be more sensitive than the imaging scope to stop the errors
A bit further research pointed my in the direction of converting an 8 x 50mm finderscope into a guidescope – that's more like my budget! The Skywatcher finder bracket is sprung in one axis and is hence unsuitable for use with a guidescope. Also the Hmm now where did I put that Celestron 9x50 finder.
I am looking for a guiding solution, and ran across this little finder that has been modified to use as a guide scope . Orion mini guide scope In it's description it says.
6 Nov 2007 The finder scope I had was from an Orion telescope, but I believe most inexpensive 9x50 finders these days have a similar design. On my finder This guide scope should work with any CCD camera, as well as webcams with a 1.25 inch nosepiece adapter. Here are . Mounted on a Celestron C8: Custom
