Frankenstein's creature finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.
Dr Victor Frankenstein dies frozen to death and the creature buries him at the cemetery of his family. However he is attacked by demons but he kills one of them and Gargoyles save him and take him to a Cathedral where the Gargoyles Order gathers. The Queen of the Gargoyles Leonore keeps Dr. Frankenstein's journal together with the treasures of the Order and gives the name of Adam to the creature. Then she explains to Adam that there is an ancient war between the Gargoyles that are angels and demons under the command of the Prince Naberius. She also invites Adam to join the Gargoyles in the war against demons, but Adam prefers to isolate in a remote place. Two hundred years later, Adam returns and finds a modern society. Soon he learns that Naberius has the intention of creating an army of soulless corpses to be possessed by demons. The scientist Terra is researching a process to create life and Naberius is seeking Dr Frankenstein's journal to help Terra and raise his army.
A simple true blue adaptation of the Frankenstein story is all i ask.Nothing fancy no dance scenes.I believe the people in Hollywood that make these films have no confidence in our ability to enjoy a movie without explosions and magical warlocks and such.And this is what i thought about the 1994 De niro version. IT'S 2014 AND MY 1ST VIEWING..THIS is a LAUGH RIOT OMG ! No Wonder i never seen this film. Heck nobody ever talked about 1994 Frankenstein or compared it to or mentioned it with Frankenstein of any period Nosferatu no Boris Karloff No not even Albert and Costello's version this movie is so gosh darn silly that it has been put back into the deepest darkest part of forget it ville Hollywood.Now Remember i'm watching this rat bait twenty years after it was made.man oh man some things get better with time but not DE Niro as Big Frank or should i say stanky Franky and then they tried to jam two Frankenstein movie's into one BY dragging the bride out. Wait one thing was better.Now i can see it digitally i can easily jump from scene to scene as i watched it.Well every real actor in Hollywood needs to have one classic monster film on the resume.I just saw the new 2014 Frankenstein that looks like a spin off of the underworld vampire sequels not much better than this just more smoke and mirrors.Well 20 long years have past you know every real actor in Hollywood needs at least one classic horror film on the resume.Well thank you Bobby De Niro and god bless you you have done it all and there is still more to come.
January is the cinematic dust bin, and this is when the worst films of the year (or at least a good portion of them) are released. 2014 wasn't any different. I, Frankenstein isn't that bad an idea. Frankenstein's monster is still alive in modern times and gets caught up in a war between gargoyles and demons. There are some interesting ideas about the monster finding its soul, which is good, but it fails to use them. It's got some good ideas and Bill Nighy is fun as the demonic villain. Any other positives? That's a resounding no. IF is another blockbuster where CGI creatures fight each other with no heart, soul or character development. In fact, it's just like Frankenstein's monster himself: Soulless and constructed from used parts. This is a clichéd train wreck featuring boring everything and lacking enough soul or charisma to entertain a 2 year old. Aaron Eckhart may be a perfectly good actor but all he does is frown throughout the movie. Everyone else, especially Jai "Die Hard 5" Courtney, is flat and wooden.
The camera floating through various laughably uninteresting waves of dark CGI isn't exciting at all even though the deluded filmmakers seem to think it is. The direction is totally flat and my advice is that Stuart Beattie should not be allowed to touch a director's chair with a ten foot pole from now on. There's no plot at all. It's just boring stuff falling into the categories of exposition or action. And then, both those categories fall into the category of tedium. It's not quite as offensively bad as The Legend Of Hercules, but this is a black spot on a strong year for films, and IF is just one great big slog. Some may like as casual entertainment and to be fair it passes by too quickly to do any real damage to anyone unlucky enough to see it. Thankfully, it bombed at the box office. Look Hollywood, no one wants to see mythical creature beat each other up anymore. Try something new. Something dramatic. Something interesting. As for this, let's all just forget it exists. We can acknowledge it with a truckload of razzie nominations and then let it go.

Sadly, as apt as comparisons to "Underworld" might seem, I, Frankenstein can't even clear that very low bar.
