Well i have been using a 430Ex for a couple of years now but recently purchased a RF-602 radio triggers and have noticed i am being forced to use much smaller apertures than i did with ETTL on camera (i had to use f18 today where i probably could have used f5.6 with ETTL) so what is the difference? i

With a better Manual solution, you dial in the flash's output from the camera's built-in menu or from the controller unit that's in your hotshoe. Much less work. So then the question of ETTL vs Manual is more easily answered: A good, ETTL-capable solution can be used as ETTL or Manual.
18 Dec 2016 I have tried to avoid using flash for years partly as I take very few photos of people. However I am trying to learn flash photography for various reasons. Off camera flash seems to be the way to go and manual is deemed to be more reliable than ettl. From my limited testing I agree. Any comments? Dec 18
