There was a shop in my area that did a motor + tranny (auto to manual) swap on my 97 civic. The labor back in 2000 cost me $800 . You might need to drill a hole in your chassis to install the clutch pedal. There might be some welding involved. I suggest you just trade in the car since the FGs are fairly new.

Now that the transmission is stripped and ready to go you have about 6 17mm bolts, 2 14mm, and 2 10mm bolts holding the tranny to the block.

16 Jan 2008 A little background this was the first year that Honda used a Continuously Variable Transmission in the Civic. The automatic HX's came with the CVT tranny instead of a traditional automatic. They are known for shaking when accelerating from a stop.
