I can't recommend any software that would help you back-test for that I have not used any software in such a manner. (as in back-testing automation) However, I think it is best to back-test systems manually. You then get a feel for them and in the long run I think this helps you better understand the method.

We've received a lot of letters from eSignal users asking for additional information on BackTesting, on building trading systems and on programming itself. To answer all those questions at once, we decided to do more than just publishing a few EFS examples. We decided to write a series of articles on eSignal BackTesting,
1) Ive been using eSignal to backtest my strategies. The problem is that I can only backtest one symbol at a time. This results in me having to manually type in each symbol, copy and pasting results onto excel, then averaging. Is there any platform which I can backtest multiple symbols? perhaps all the NYSE stocks?

The only one I have been able to find so far is. Advanced Charting - Back Testing (1293). I have used and understand that reference but I need more.

Manual Backtesting Script Issue. 06-11-2013, 11:07 AM. I'm having a bit of trouble with my script. When I load it on the 10m chart, the arrows are generated according to my criteria, but only as far back as the 26th of May. Yesterday it went back to the 24th, which leads me to believe it's something to do with my eSignal
