They are being followed by an unlucky DEA agent, the father of the kidnapped girl, an old partner which Romeo double-crossed and the previous boss to whom he owes a lot of money. He doesn't like what he reads in the cards...A psychotic criminal couple kidnaps a random teenage couple. The woman rapes the male captive, and lets him watch his lover being raped by the man. They then plan to sacrifice the couple.A wild Spanish roller coaster ride of a film has Rosie Perez and witch doctor Javier Bardem as two lovers on the run, kidnapping a couple of very irritating teenagers with an idea of using them in some bizarre sacrificial ceremony (these kids were so hateful, I couldn't wait). All of this feels kind of familiar, and it bounces all over the place. However, seeing Rosie Perez undertaking the part of a skanky slut is probably the best use I've seen her put to so far, and I must admit that Bardem is very powerful and charismatic in what is otherwise a pretty messed up film.

*1/2 out of ****Ugh. A dismal parade of hipness and "shocking" imagery with no real point being made. It has a desperate air to it, and the only shock is that something this miserable was ever exported. There's nothing here that hasn't been done much, much better by other filmmakers, but this film has a smugness and self-congratulatory feel to it that makes it even more appalling!The situation with Perdita Durango is not so crystal clear in terms of censorship. First of all the movie has been censored for its R-rating and several shots of Perditas breast or backside have been cut but there are also several other scenes missing due to the usage of copyrighted film material, like the Vera Cruz footage at the end. The information regarding the cut lengths of the Great Britain releases are not unambiguous. About 37 sec. were cut for the theatrical release and this version was rated 18+, according to the BBFC homepage. The same cut length was noted for a VHS-release, also rated 18 years and above. The VHS that was at hand misses five and a half minutes, though. According to the OFDB (German IMDB), this is also the case for the old British DVD. "Old" because it seems that the DVD release from 2006 is uncut.
