A reality show about a group of stunt men & extreme sport enthusists with high thresholds of pain. Each show consists only of videotapes of them performing stupid and dangerous stunts--standing in a porta-potty while it's turned upside-down, wrestling a bear while wearing a bear costume, and pretending to kidnap Brad Pitt.
The cast performs various crazy stunts for our amusement.
...and without any footage of cats hilariously opening doors or people forcing little kids in bridesmaid and page outfits to hit eachother. Jackass is a group of trained professionals(cool git Johnny Knoxville,friends,aunties and hangers-on),skater dudes and prats with cameras doing things-biking off a ramp over a sewer-pipe trickle,artificially inseminating a really CALM cow,being used as target practice by the fire brigade,wrapping a thin man in steak and feeding him to alsatians,wrapping a fat man in bubble wrap and riding him through an olympic sized... you watch, you laugh, and after growing up on You've Been Framed and the like, you feel a bit like the innocent girl in some softcore romantic flick-"I didn't know it could be like...this.." Thank you Meter Fairy.
I love this show! I am so glad that MTV is finally presenting a show that is too hilarious for words and is head and shoulders above that awful Tom Green show. Some people think that "Jackass" and "The Tom Green Show" are very much alike, but I think it's important for me to explain in this comment why that is not true. There are several things that make it better than Tom Green. First of all, Johnny Knoxville has a very nice body, but Tom Green's could make a straight woman gay. Secondly, the comedy on "Jackass" is not (usually) made at the expense of other people, but that's all that Tom Green's act: embarrassing and angrying other people...and that's not funny. But that is not what "Jackass" does. The guys on that show do things to themselves to get laughs; they don't have to degrade other people to make themselves look funny. They are funny and I think what they're doing is pretty cool. It's not very safe ;D, but it's pretty cool.
Like all the previous videos, easily-copyable scenes needed to be removed for its release in the UK. One scene at the beginning of the video shows that Steve has always enjoyed getting choked till unconsciousness, even as a teen. Similar to the third one, especially the younger audience shouldn't watch that because it's not the healthiest thing one can do to the brain / the brain cells so it got removed. Furthermore, there's a little recap to that scene at the end. It got removed as well - for obvious reasons. And contrary to the Don't Try This At Home trilogy (at least the German releases contains the uncensored US-Versions), there's no uncensored European release available. The German DVD with additional German, French and Dutch subtitles contains is identically censored - the same in France and the Netherlands. a5c7b9f00b
