The main plot of program is usually good. I like the missions the Unit goes on and how they accomplish their objectives. I really dislike Col. Ryan having an affair with Tiffy. For a commander to have an affair with a subordinate's wife is the ultimate betrayal in the military. To think that wives of some of the other men in the Unit would have knowledge of this and conceal it, is unbelievable. Not only would they see it as putting Tiffy's husband at risk but also their own husbands. Because Col. Ryan assigns the men to the missions they would always wonder if a mission Mack was assigned to, was simply intended as a means of getting rid of him. They would have to tell their husbands what was going on. A commander without honor is a threat to everyone. Suddenly manufacturing a wife for Col. Ryan doesn't remedy the situation. This subplot is an insult to everyone who has ever served in the Armed Forces. Not only Col. Ryan, but Tiffy should be written out of the show.
In the episode on November 28 I thought maybe we would finally get rid of Col. Ryan, the sexual predator, who preys on the vulnerable wives of his men. And with him, his wife, who apparently believes it is OK to lie to the police and encourage others to lie also. A bonus would be to get rid of Tiffy who not only lied to the police, but also in court. Wait until the woman who was hurt in the accident sues her.
I missed the episode where Mack has sex with Crystal. This is apparently to show that he is no better than Tiffy when it comes to adultery. I recently saw the Ranger's Creed on another website. How may articles of that has Col. Ryan violated in his affair with Tiffy. I can't believe that there haven't been any repercussions to Tiffy's and Mrs. Ryan's lying to the police and the court about the accident.
I originally thought I would like this series - not as good as "24" but still very interesting. However, this week's episode upset me. While rescuing Christian missionaries "somewhere" overseas, Dennis Haysbert's character resorted to "Christian bashing" and, as a Christian, I was totally offended by the "bible thumping" comment, as well as several other comments. There are Christian missionaries all over the world risking their lives to bring the word of Jesus Christ to the people. I know what some will say, "if you don't like it, turn the channel." Well, that is what I intend to do, along with many other Christians. As a matter of fact, I intend to e-mail CBS regarding this matter. All of a sudden it is "politically correct" not to step on other religions' toes, but "Christian bashing" is suddenly "in." No wonder this country is going down the tubes so fast.
The series would end with Jonas beginning to suffer with combat stress. This is aggravated by Bridget Sullivan being mortally wounded on a mission, her dying words forgiving Sam McBride for his fake attempted rape of her. As a result Jonas retires from the army and joins Molly in her real estate business. Mack would become an officer and he and his family would move to a permanent posting elsewhere arranged by General Ryan, giving him a conventional army training job without any combat role. Bob would leave the army due to his injuries and go to law school but he would maintin his links with the CIA and work as a training instructor/legal consultant for them and act as their liaison with The Unit. He is intended by the CIA to be their inside man on The Unit through his contacts but it is later revealed that he is actually still working for Tom Ryan and is effectively The Unit's mole within the agency. Charles Grey would be promoted to the new team leader with Sam McBride as his deputy. General Tom Ryan would get back together with his ex-wife and call in the numerous favours owed to them and his men to have The Unit once again placed under his command. The series would end with the entire cast assembled to watch Bob, Charles and Sam put potential new recruits to The Unit through their paces in order to bring their team up to full strength. a5c7b9f00b
