15 Mar 2016 Term Infant < 10% Preterm < 15% Birthweight is usually regained by 2 weeks of age in term infants. Expected weight gains for preterm infants. Good growth for preterm babies is 15 - 20 g per kg body weight per day. As they approach 40 weeks gestational age weight gain will slow to 150 to 200 g per week.
