These Guidelines answer the questions we hear most often from our authors about their rights to reuse their articles. Authors who are members of the American Anthropological Association (AAA), but not of the SCA, must become members of the SCA before their manuscripts will be reviewed. To join In the case of coauthored manuscripts, as long as at least one of the authors is a current SCA member, no submission charge will apply.
Length: Be sure your manuscript meets length requirements: major papers should be no longer than 12,000 words, research reports no longer than 5,000 words, forum papers no longer than 7,500 words, and discussion items no longer than 800 words. Text, references, and endnotes all count toward the word limit.
