As Dale and Saul run for their lives, they quickly discover that they're not suffering from weed-fueled paranoia: incredibly, the bad guys really are hot on their trail and trying to figure out the fastest way to kill them both. All aboard the Pineapple Express.Pineapple Express struggles to find its rhythm, even from the very beginning of the movie, and you find yourself expecting some sort of start that doesn't come. This is due to one of the most noticeable bad habits of Apatow's, which is over-stretching the script. This one, like a lot of his productions, is almost two hours long, when you feel it could have easily been trimmed of a good twenty minutes.
Moreover, the humour is off most of the time: most of the gags fall flat and the few funny ones don't compensate for the already boring story.
Still, let's note that there are a few interesting and well directed scenes such as the fight at Red's or the car chase.This film was pretty good. It contained explicit drug use(which you may be thinking is no big deal,but i mean every time you see someone their's a joint in their mouth),and contained pervasive language.Other than that its pretty funny and really action packed. It's about a drug dealer and his buyer who witness a murder and freak out. it's very entertaining and a movie you could probably watch more than once( meaning it's worth buying at the store). so if you don't ming Language, drug use and violence this is the film for for you ,and if you do mind those. with some modivation you'd find yourself enjoying this film too. 8.4/10It's with that action aspect that Pineapple Express differs from Apatow's previous production output, and though, the words "taut" and "pulse-pounding" would never apply, the giddily over-the-top fight sequences, choreographed by veteran stunt coordinator Gary Hymes, handily compensate for the lag time.Pineapple Express is based on a screenplay by Seth Rogen (who also stars in the film), Evan Goldberg, and Judd Apatow (who also produced the film). According to Apatow, the source of inspiration for Pineapple Express was Brad Pitt's character [a stoner named Floyd] in True Romance (1993) (1993). "Paper Planes" by M.I.A Most viewers simply chalk it up to "suspension of disbelief". Some critics have likened Red's pseudo-immortality to Wile E. Coyote's, i.e. the ridiculous amount of punishment he is able to take is part of the joke. Others have seen it as a reference to Knocked Up (2007) (2007) in which the character Ben Stone (Seth Rogen), praises the cure-all purposes of marijuana. "It is, like, the best medicine. 'Cause it fixes everything. Jonah broke his elbow once. We just... got high and... it still clicks but, I mean, he's ok." One of the complaints of the action sequences in this film is that they are very start-and-stop. As stated by Seth Rogen on the DVD commentary for the film, "the action is start-and-stop because we just really didn't have the money." This is an R-rated comedy, so the censored parts are not all that spectacular.
