If it's like my Resistance X-Wing (a newer Bandai SW kit) then the paint instructions above the color chart says "We recommend the use of water-based paint for best results" meaning acrylics--a.k.a. Mr. Hobby Aqueous (GSI/Creos) as this is the usual go-to for Bandai as a company. They even make

I think some are missing spock62's point. There are optional parts in the X-Wing kit, two different noses and different exhaust nozzles for specific X-Wings. He wants to be sure what parts to use for his build and then use the appropriate colors. That's exactly the point I am making. Following the instructions is
Bandai 1/72 X-Wing (orig trilogy, not TFA version). I'm hoping to paint it once built as I think it looks fantastic when doing so, but as I've never done anything like this before I could use a bit of advice. I noticed a colour chart at the following link, should I follow this and order paint in each of those colours?
