California Environmental Quality Act. The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) generally requires state and local government agencies to inform decision makers and the public about the potential environmental impacts of proposed projects, and to reduce those environmental impacts to the extent feasible.
The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is California's broadest environmental law. CEQA applies to all discretionary projects proposed to be conducted or approved by a California public agency, including private projects requiring discretionary government approval.
The Natural Resources Agency will soon commence a formal rulemaking process to adopt the proposed changes pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act.
