18 Dec 2006 does anybody know when do we need to change transmission fluid on mini s with manual transmission? it is not mentioned on neither inspection I or II.
I have an '04 Cooper (R50) with the manual transmission (midlands); I'm planning to change the transmission fluid this weekend. I used Red Line MTL fluid (not the MINI / BMW stuff); it cost me about $9 / bottle + shipping for three bottles (the MC takes just over 2 quarts, MCS under 2 I think). Time:

I've read the transmission fluid is a lifetime fluid manufactured by Texaco or something & it should not be changed if you wanna keep your warranty That's why there is no mention of manual tranny fluid changes

4 Jan 2011 Hi Guys, I have a 2004 Mini Cooper with the dreaded midland gearbox. At the moment, and with 36000 miles on the clock, the gearbox seems fine.
