Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her friends, Katniss becomes the "Mockingjay", the symbol of rebellion for the districts of Panem.Katniss Everdeen becomes the symbol of the rebellion after she shoots a force field into the arena of the Quater Quell. She now lives with the rebels in District 13 after President Snow destroyed the other districts except for District 2. She agrees to become the Mockingjay but her main focus is to save Peeta after he was captured by the Capitol in the Quater Quell and is being "hijacked".To all my Bookies and Movie fends. Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 was awesome!!! They actually made the first half of the book action packed and an emotional roller-coaster that will give you the information needed to understand the situation! But at the same time keep simple minded people entertained while doing it! Honestly they followed the book while adding events that simulated the plot in ways that I bet the author Suzanne Collins wished she would have thought of it. Maybe she did b/c she was a part of the screen writing! I truly loved how Jennifer was able to express Katniss' thoughts and feelings without uttering a word. She is the perfect Katniss! Actually everyone that is in this movie portrays their characters perfectly! All in all the movie was well done and stopped on a perfect moment! WELL DONE!Awful film, could easily have been reduced down to about 10 minutes. Instead it drags on offering you nothing for entertainment, character development or intrigue.
I love this franchise but they have left me feeling jaded by the ruthless money-grabbing approach of splitting the book up into 2 parts. Nothing happens. NOTHING HAPPENS, and it is full of deliberately long scenes and scene repetition. They then even had the gumption to tease the exciting scenes that will in the next film at the very end. Left wanting more but not in the good way "that was amazing, I don't know how I will survive the next 12 months waiting for the conclusion" way. Its a bit more "this Big Mac really doesn't look as exciting or delicious as it does in that poster". Save your money, wait for part 2 (something will actually take place in that film)Director Francis Laurence ekes a paltry story out. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is based on the first half of Mockingjay, a 2010 novel by American writer Suzanne Collins. It is the third movie in The Hunger Games series, preceded by The Hunger Games (2012) (2012) and(2013). The novel was adapted for the film by American screenwriters Peter Craig and Danny Strong. It is followed by The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015) (2015). This is the pearl that Peeta gave Katniss in Catching Fire. Peeta found it in an oyster during the 75th Hunger Games, and it's Katniss' only remaining link to him. Katniss is reunited with Peeta but, when she tries to hug him, he suddenly attacks and tries to strangle her,. Katniss is saved only by Boggs' (Mahershala Ali) intervention. Later, it's explained to her that Peeta was "hijacked"—a form of fear conditioning enhanced with tracker venom. Meanwhile, District 13 President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) announces that her covert operation into the Capitol has resulted in the victors being liberated and requests that all the districts of Panem unite against their mutual oppressor.
