East side date restaurantsThe pizza was the best I have had in a very long time. Astoria and Best for: Exploring just how awesome Greek food can be. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening! The owner, Salvatore Lombardi, has been around forever and he understands how to treat his guests to make them feel welcome and appreciated. Janine Vanzee: A classy italian restaurant with rich food. The Bronx Fordham-Belmont Best for: Casual, no-expectations fun. The dinner menu is supposed to rotate often, but you can expect familiar classics like linguine with clams and chicken cacciatore. The servers were very friendly and we got our drinks and food fairly quickly. Super fresh salad and the fish and chips were superb! It looks sort of like a Victorian cellar, but the music is contemporary, and the list is nothing but sulfite-free funky oranges, juicy reds, and musky whites. Rich flavors, earthy sauces, just really good Indian food. Greenwich Village Best for: When you want to look like the one who knows all the secret spots. The cavernous dining room, with its wood-burning oven on display and paintings of Italian architecture, is endearingly cheesy. Impress your date at this intimate dinner spot, a perennial food-writer favorite.East side date restaurantsThe between supper club serves upscale comfort food as well as late-night drinks, and the restaurant decor has all the medico hipster highlights: reclaimed wood, distressed mirrors, a marble bar, and tea-light candles. Food was very good. For those autobus an old-world setting for their date, this West Village wine bar is the spot. We shared meatballs and also Beets custodes. Italian food with a twist.The food was pretty good-and they definitely have something for everyone. My dining partner and I both had the burger and we could not have been more happy with the decision. Lower East Side Best for: When you want a date that feels like a super-fun bar mitzvah.
