The Library has chosen a new group to help safeguard magical cursed artifacts throughout time and around the world. An art historian, a thief , a mathematician and a warrior are sent through the doorway to help bring back the others, who are protected by the Library from the evil recently released.
A group of librarians sets off on adventures in an effort to save mysterious, ancient artifacts.
The Lost room, then Warehouse 13, and now The Librarians....
A story with good twists, initial attempt was dry and maybe ahead of its time, then good timing with good quality acting and twists ( seasons 1-4 then downhill) and now this poor version.
The characters in Librarians were..... average and some below average. The introduction had some good elements but the writing is so poor, the storyline felt like someone falling down the stairs and you glimpse a clear bit every so often.
The action scenes were ridiculously cheap, and I am not talking about the explosions, the fighting scenes are so crap ( an actor turning his head before even having a fist near his face, and this was captured in the shot, what was the director doing ?? ) It looked so fake, you get better fighting scenes on youtube !!!! The only good bit was Bob Newhart.
Having watched both of the opening episodes, and the original movies this show spun off from, I can say that this show will be a perfect alternative for families looking to escape reality TV.
Each episode has a unique twist on the stories we all know.
There is enough action to keep things moving but not so much that it would be inappropriate for kids.
If you enjoyed the movies, give this a look.
Bob Newhart plays his role perfectly. It is disappointing that Noah Wiley is only in a few episodes, but the rest of the actors involved have experience playing similar roles.
The show premieres in TNT on December 7, 2014. It will not be available to view prior to its release.

It is on Hulu along with the two movies leading up to the series effective 10/24/15. It will air on TNT Sunday nights starting 12/07/2014 & be available on *iTunes the *CW network.
