When a man (Robbins) believes he has discovered that his wife is having an affair with his boss, it sets off a chain reaction of events. First he wanders into a ghetto where a robber (Lawrence) tries to take his money at gunpoint, but instead sets a wild ride from California to Arizona. The two eventually become reluctant friends. Discussing robbery techniques, they decide to get back at the boss by robbing an office safe containing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Life is further complicated by another pair of robbers who chase the first two for infringing on their territory.
This was the best comedy i have seen since blues brothers. The plot is absolutely brilliant. A man has lost the will to live as he finds out he has been living a lie, and this gives him the weapon of having no fear. I loved this movie, it's definitely one of my favourites. It was great to see a rich executive shout "GET DOWN BI***H SUCKER!" and then ask the clerk if he was scary. This movie is phenomenal and i would recommend it to anybody. It has many funny parts, and Martin Lawrence is great as Terrance. Did anybody see him in blue streak? That was a great movie and this one has done even better. It kept me on the edge of my seat during the gun standoffs and had me in fits of laughter in other parts.
I used to think the Eddie Murphy movies with the black man/white man partners were the best. At least until I seen this movie. Whoever casted Tim and Martin together, made an excellent choice. Not only are they completely different in their appearances (tall white guy and a short black dude), financial status, outlook on life, but they learn to gain a common ground. I laughed from beginning to end and have loaned out the movie to all my close friends. The misunderstandings in the flick are hilarious. Talk about robbing the wrong guy at the wrong time. The desert scene with the shoes on fire and the Scatman song playing in the background is one of the funniest moments I've ever seen. (I almost wet myself laughing) It's one of those movies where you don't know what's going to happen next. When a guy's down on his luck and all goes wrong, he really has "Nothing to Lose." When is the Nothing to Lose two coming out?
