Lesson's ConceptS. • Renewable natural resources are those which can be replaced naturally or through human-assisted actions within a relatively short amount of time (e.g., within a human lifetime). Examples of renewable natural resources are plants, animals, water, air, and some energy resources, such as sunlight.
Natural resources are helpful things that we get from the Earth such as wood, stone, oil, coal, water and wind. We use some natural resources to make things. We use other natural resources to make electricity and other kinds of energy. Natural resources are divided into two groups. Renewable resources is one group.
OVERVIEW. In this lesson students will: • Make journals. • Observe models of categories of natural resources. • Identify natural resources on the school grounds, record them on a chart, and describe them in their journals. • Determine natural resources used to make various items on the school grounds and in the classroom.
