23 years after the original Sonic The Hedgehog Video Game, fast, handsome, and arrogant hero Sonic The Hedgehog continues to fight his arch nemesis, Dr. Eggman. Along with Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and a new recruit named Sticks. But that is not all, Sonic and his friends also explore new places such as cloud cities, going underwater, and more.
Sonic and his friends Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Sticks live in and around a Village. This vast landscape is filled with jungles, mountains, undersea civilizations, cloud cities and all kinds of other environments.
A lot of people are saying that it's just "Spongebob with Sonic characters, and to a certain extent, it sorta is. It depends on the writers on how the want to approach the character. Because if you look at Sonic and his friends, you genuinely can't take it seriously. Just look at Sonic 2006, it was too, so a lot of people, including me, thought that it was too serious, which makes it more laughable than it should be. Anyway, how's the show? I think it's okay. It certainly has some good laugh's and likable enough characters (aside from them being sorta ripped off from TMNT), at least to keep you kid's quiet. My main gripe with this show is that it's pretentious. I just wish there was more action and adventure, aside from just comedy. Not to mention, I wish there was more characters. There's only 5 Sonic characters in the show, aside from the fan character, Sticks the Badger. When I first viewed this show, I thought it will be like Sonic X without humans, but instead I appreciate it for what it's trying to do.
The first season of Sonic Boom was great. It had some funny jokes here and there but also lacks some music and plot. Season 2, on the other hand, is splendid. It has improved a lot. Greater music has been added, the show became self-aware at times (Which is very funny), it has better action, plot, etc. The show has been getting better, especially with the four-part episode full of action and good story-telling (and cliff-hangers). The show does poke fun at the fandom at times and can make the audience laugh. This show doesn't deserve more hate than it already has. Sometimes, it's better to give things a second chance. I recommend this show to anyone who wants a laugh and to anyone who wants to see our beloved blue hedgehog goof around in fun adventures. Besides, Sonic Boom is the more comedic side of Sonic the Hedgehog.
