Manual mode is just that - entirely manual. In any other mode, the camera is doing something to try and get a proper exposure. 22 Jun 2011 Setting up and Shooting in Manual Mode. Turn the Mode dial to align the M with the indicator line. Select your ISO by pressing the ISO button on the top of the camera, and then turning the Main dial.
