In general, you cannot automatically update your phone's version of Android until the manufacturer AND carrier clear the updates, and I don't think ANY 2.x phones are getting any attention anymore. I thought I would just do a write up of how to manually update to 2.3.7 because I am seeing so many questions on it. Sorry if this seems like a repost of other threads, but posting a thread with this title is the lesser of two evils (a ton of "how do I update" threads). Download this:

27 Oct 2011 Basically, you enter the recovery (check your device's operating manual for information on how to enter "recovery mode") and from there you find and flash the custom ROM. ..
