I am the proud owner of a 70s Music Man HD-130, chassis # 2475-130. I'd like to replace the tubes and bias the amp myself, but I don't know much about the amp except it has 4 x EL-34s. It is an early version. It has a completely solid state pre amp and a Tube power amp design which has one 12AX7A used as a phase
you cannot get a flat setting on a musicman or fender amp. it is impossible, because of the way the tonestack is designed. it will never happen, and btw 2/10/2 is far from flat. only an amp with a Baxandall type tonestack (B15N, etc) will give you an actual flat setting; when it's tone controls are set to noon it

6 Sep 2017 This vintage Music Man amp has had one owner since it was made in 1977, in Anaheim California. It is really loud and works great. The tubes and all parts are original. 130 watts. It still has it's original foot switch and it's original manual too. The four 10" speakers are Jensen C10 Q.The vibrato does not work
25 Feb 2011 I've got a Musicman HD130 on the bench. This is the one with the Solid State phase inverter. I get hum with good tubes in, powered on, in standby. In fact I get hum when the power is off with tubes in. This amp scares me a bit with it's plate voltage at 700v. Any suggestions? Schematic below. Thanks!
