12A/12 – Suitable for 12 years and over. Films classified 12A and video works classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. Discrimination. Movie Ratings. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is the self-regulatory body for the film industry. It is the American branch of the Motion Picture Association, and was actually founded before the MPA, back in 1922. Please click on the image of each movie rating below to learn more.
Rated G: General Audiences – all ages admitted. Rated PG: Parental Guidance Suggested – some material may not be suitable for children.
