Okay, so while people have said to not buy any new guns with your first certs, I will say that you should make an exception if you want to play SMG Infiltrator, which in my opnion is one of the most fun and rewarding playstyles in Planetside 2. One notable trait of Submachine Guns is their high ADS Move Speed Multiplier, with all SMGs sharing a 0.75x multiplier. SMG Flak armour upgraded once (stops mines blowing you up in one go) Proximity mines. Hacker speed & stealth recovery. Rest of flak armour.
