AL-KAFIRUN. This Surah takes its name from the word al-Kafirun which appears in the first verse. It is a Makkan Surah which consists of 6 verses. According to Traditions, this Surah was revealed when the idolaters of Makkah were making proposals to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for a compromise in the matters of religion.
