So iv taken the cover off the base (1st stage) ready for cleaning for no.2. sick covered maxi cosi = washing machine I read instructions as 'guidelines' - they tend to be over-cautious and arse covering rather than anything else, so that people cannot come back and say..i put it in my washing machine
