I have a dual boot system with Windows 8 and Ubuntu 14.04LTS and I have a ASUS Xonar DGX. There's no sound in Ubuntu but it works correctly in Windows. I've looked at some of the other threads and used the terminal to check the card out. (That was a fun learning experience. :) ) The card appears to be recognized. First, everything works fine from streaming from my Win8.1-host (i54670k, 8GB Ram, Geforce GTX670, Asus Xonar DX soundcard) to my client (Notebook i32120m, 8 GB Ram, Geforce 640m), when I use the Onboard-Soundcard on the host (Realtek ALC887). But normally I'm using the Xonar DX for gaming. So after having installed my sound card and gotten the driver installed, I went to test it out, speaker out is working, but it's not giving me any recording capabilities. I have my microphone plugged into the Line In/Mic In jack on the sound card and I disabled every other possible recording device in the sound.
