JAGGA JASOOS - Disney is famous for its Musical
And I am not a big fan of those movies. So I didn't liked Jagga Jasoos a lot.
It's experimental , to use songs as dialogues , but it was bad to inject more songs if we were already hearing the dialogues as songs. In such case songs become jarring and kind of unnecessary .
What's the problem with musicals is that you have to enjoy the songs , because the flow is not very fast. And Because the lyrical dialogues make conversations lengthy. If you like such stuff u can enjoy Disney Musicals , otherwise u can't .
As I said the screenplay was not very fast. The movie various times stopped going forward when conversation becomes songs.
But that's not the only problem. The whole case investigation thing is not very intelligent. I mean it's not like brain bursting , which makes you ask the questions What had happened ? How it happened ? Also there was too much coincidence injected. Things just happened. You just have to enjoy the adventure.
Talking of the adventure , it's cartoonish . Like a mixture of looney tunes and Indiana Jones movie. Again , good enough for kids only , at least I think so. It felt like the vision of Anurag Basu needed a bigger budget . But obviously it's a Bollywood film. Without the big KHANS in it. So you can invest only a limited amount. This movie costed 85crore . And I think , even on this low budget , it will be a flop. The reason not being because it's a bad movie. But because it will not click the right chords with the Bollywood audience.
Ranbir's character was too similar to his Barfi's (also made by Anurag Basu) character including the fact that they both can't speak properly. But that doesn't take out the fact that he gave his 100% . He makes his character enjoyable. Also his singing voice is good.
Same goes for Katrina Kaif. Her character was as cartoonish as Ranbir's , and the chemistry is good. I have to say , I really liked Katrina's performance.
But whom I liked most was Saswata Cheterjii. An exceptional Bengali actor gave a very sweet performance as the guardian of Jagga.
Jokes worked , most of the times , but the jokes were physical , not verbal. So it depends what kind of jokes u like.
As I said before songs should have been ignored . Ullu ka Paththa has a little purpose but the others were not necessary.
Visual effects were pretty bad.
Background score becomes loud sometimes. Nothing memorable .
In comparison cinematography is really beautiful.
I don't know when will it be , but at present Bollywood audience is not ready for Disney Musicals.

Yesterday i watch this movie and i found its totally disappointed movie. The Ranbir Kapoor acting was good same as before but rest of like Katrina Kaif and rest of the team heavily disappointed in this movie. Its like f grade movie and waste of time to watch this movie. This movie its only for children's. I will give 1 star out of 5 star for this kind of disaster movie.
