When you receive the HDMIPi kit, the layers of acrylic still have their protective coverings. Each layer will have a covering on both sides, including the clear layers. 10 Oct 2015 The HDMI Pi screen module will run on 12v, or 5.2-5.5v via a micro USB connector. I'm using it on 5.2v, as that's the main power rail inside the PInebox. The 5v power rail for my screen is switched, to preserve power when the case lid is closed. You can read more about that under this part of the design.

TV is raising funds for HDMIPi Affordable 9" High-Def screen for the Raspberry Pi on Kickstarter! Small HDMI screens are expensive. Could make quite a neat portable setup if it works? . from a 5V supply? To me it seems like option (b) would work better (although it's hard to say without having one here to play with).
