Michael Jackson.
What do we really know about Michael Jackson? Will we ever know everything? Do we need to know everything?
Michael Jackson was a man beyond words. I'm really having a hard time trying to write down something to express his glow, his excellence. The words don't come out right no matter how hard I try. I can write all this crap, but as soon as I'm trying to express Michael Jackson in words it just stops. I c a n ' t . I simply just can't.
I entered his world when I was in fourth grade. I listened to all his songs, saw all his movies, read all articles about him. I even sent him a letter, and a gift along with it. It was a beautiful butterfly with beads in its wings. I loved it, I adored it. I don't think he ever read the letter. I mean, come on. How many letters did he get in one day? 5 million? I remember thinking that his bodyguards would probably think that the little box containing my beautiful butterfly would be something dangerous and destroy it. Yet, I gave it to him. It made me feel bonded to him in some special way.
I learnt how to do the moonwalk. I was so proud. I really felt good about myself when I was showing off with it at the disco.
Swoosh. Across the dancefloor. Yes.
Every day I listened to his music, his art. I knew it. I breathed it. And in every breath, every second listening to it, I breathed him. He was truly special, and he was s t r o n g . I am proud to have lived in the same era as he did. I am proud to have adored and listened to his words. To me, Michael wasn't human. He was hope, love, strenght, survival, beauty.
Did Michael die because of his heart? Yes. He died because his heart was too big for this world to handle. He was one of few who actually took action and tried to change the world. How did the world respond? It questioned if his love for children was sane. They questioned the way he looked and why he was "strange". Did Michael have a heart disease? Yes. It's called love and compassion.
Michael Jackson is a legend. He is the eighth wonder of the world.
He is not dead. He lives through his music. He exists in people's hearts and souls. He will always be breathing.
Michael Jackson.
