28 Jun 2013 Familiars - Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch: Familiars are little creatures that you are able to send out in battle to fight for you. Each character in your party has a unique affinity with a particular genus that gives those familiars a 10% stat/performance boost while being operated by that character.
Each of the companions that you come across in your journey, including Oliver have a favorite
just below the type of familiar, in the upper right of the screen. Not all familiars are created equal, and there are some real winners when it comes to the familiars within each genus. I've got my suggested lineup (and where to catch them) for the main party members in my Ni No Kuni quickstart guide.
Both Oliver and Marcassin have offensive spells. However, none of your party members comes close to the amount of healing or damage a strong familiar can do.
