How much compensation (in shutter speed steps) can I expect? Which focal length should I set when using MF zoom lens? Are there any lenses which SR is not effective? Can non-PENTAX interchangeable lens be used? Does SR work with the non-PENTAX interchangeable lens? Do we recommend SR is always ON?
In this thread, I noticed an interesting discussion between Attila, Flor27 and PapadakosPanagiotis regarding the lack of support for MF lenses from majors brands producing DSLRs. As stated by PapadakosPanagiotis, "at least Pentax K10D supports it"! Yes, definitely. And that's the main reason why I
The K10D camera features the "crippled" KAF2 mount. Like the full-featured KAF2 mount, this has power contacts for the lens and supports power zoom and MTF information transferred from the lens to the body, but lacks the mechanical stop-down coupler necessary for
12 Apr 2008 Kinda simple and probably noob-like question. But I have been fiddling around with my K10d on the MF setting. I have used both AF lenses and my old MF 50mm/f2.0 lens from my K1000. I know that auto focus lenses are "looser" and have shorter distances between components ( I forget the actual terms)
5 Apr 2007 Courtesy of this sensor-shift mechanism, called "Shake Reduction," the K10D can offer image stabilization with every Pentax-branded lens that can be fitted to the camera. Some older lenses that don't transmit focal length information to the camera body require the user to manually enter the focal length
Ok, three different lenses, playing with the diopter till the view through the viewfinder really does look as sharp as it can. After a long day what I now see is that I need to focus about an inch in front of the subject for the subject to be perfectly in focus. (this at a distance to subject of about 6 yards/metres away)
20 Oct 2017 Blogger and photographer Dan James, on his mission to simplify his photographic life (read more about it here), seems to have settled on a Pentax K10D DSLR and screw-mount, manual-focus Pentax Takumar lenses. And he gets great results. If the K10D isn't a dinosaur among DSLRs yet, it will be soon:
Shutter speed. EV compensation value. 7. Aperture. Sensitivity (ISO) indicator. 8. Focus indicator. 9. Manual focus indicator. 10. Exposure compensation scale. Exposure meter in The Pentax K10D's monochrome LCD status display appears on the camera's top deck just behind the shutter button. It displays the Shutter
Since the SR mechanism is contained within the camera body, you can take advantage of this extremely useful function in combination with any PENTAX interchangeable lens, including manual-focus lenses. When such a lens is mounted on the K10D, the Shake Reduction setting menu is automatically displayed on the
