Serre Chevalier. Snowboard Guide rating 10 out of 10 “ One of the best resorts in France. Great freeriding with powder and full-on, freestyle terrain. Shame it's pricey and packed Great tree runs & good off-piste There's varying terrain for all abilities, some great off-piste and a good snow record but be ready to pay for it.
Serre Chevalier is one of the best places to ride in France. This great resort has heaps of 05/06: 3 new 6-seater chairlifts; Grand Serre in Serre Chevalier 1350, Foret in Serre Chevalier 1400, Clot Gauthier in Serre Chevalier 1400. Anyone planning a two-week trip to Alpe d'Huez, will not have enough time to ride all the amazing and varied terrain that this place has to offer, set in 10,000 hectares with 800 hectares of pistes this place is big. Each year, this high altitude resort offers amazing amounts of great powder days covering some fantastic

Longest Piste:6miles (10km). Serre Chevalier is one of the best places to ride in France. This great resort has heaps of major terrain: tight, open trees to weave, extreme drop-offs to get the adrenaline going, big bowls, countless banks and gullies, super-fast flats to push the hair back, hits everywhere, and a giant, natural
The pistes are unkempt and the queues for the bus home can be a joke, but that's the Chamonix experience. It's not polished like some of its neighbours - its infrastructure is rough and so are its slopes, although this is what makes it so great. The valley is really a collection of ski areas: Le Brevent out of Chamonix town.
10 / 10: They're not wrong. Serre Chevalier is one of the best resorts I've been to. It was the first resort I went to in France, and now I compare all others to it, having been to Tignes, Val D'Isere, Chamonix (overrated) & Risoul. Huge range of pistes and ski area, wicked off piste. Inexpensive. Friendly, not too commercial. Go!
Serre Chevalier is perfect soft boot territory, and those riders wanting wide expanses of powder without having to hike should check out the stuff off the Balme PISTES. Riders are presented with as much alpine terrain as they could possibly need. There s plenty of top-to-bottom runs that can be taken a mach-1 speed.
