Clinical trial compensation guidelines. These guidelines cover compensation in the event of injury to patients participating in clinical trials.
These guidelines will apply to all clinical trials commenced from 1st January 2015 onwards. The ABPI has long encouraged member companies to make special arrangements to compensate participants in clinical research that they have sponsored and who suffer injury as a result of such participation.
The general principle which ABHI has followed in drafting these Guidelines is that they should follow as closely as possible the compensation provisions of the ABPI Guidelines for Medical Experiments in Non-Patient Human Volunteer and Clinical Trial Compensation Guidelines 1991.
