It doesn't focus as fast, and the f/4 aperture is a huge bonus. The f/4 also focuses closer but is much heavier than either of the f/5.6 versions. Don't confuse this 70 - 210 mm AF-D lens with the 70-210 f/4.5-5.6 manual focus lens now resold by Nikon that appears to be made by Cosina. The manual focus lens sells for about
70-210mm f/4 AF Nikkor on a D2x (ISO 160, f/4, 1/1000 sec). Could a more expensive lens do it better? Probably not. There's a sucker born every minute. One of the internet's single greatest myths is the 70-210/4-5.6D Nikkor. Originally marketed as a budget amateur zoom, it is now a grossly overpriced testament to how
I just got a used Nikon AF 70-210 f4-5.6 lens and have a question about using it with a D50. I would like to know what the yellow indicator line is

At 105mm and at near infinity range up to about 20 ft it?s visually as sharp as the AF-S 105mm micro Nikkor. It loses a bit of contrast I have just purchased the non D version of the Nikon 70-210 f4-5.6 to go with my D800. I bought it I don't need the D version for faster focus I shoot manual cameras only. For the price I paid
The focusing window on this AF zoom Nikkor 70-210mm f/4~5.6S has been removed. The manual focusing ring which faced so much of criticism has been improved with a broader collar now, and it comes with a hard rubberized pattern for improved lens handling during manual focusing. The zoom is still keeping a separate

20 Aug 2016 I'm looking for a copy of the instruction manual for this lens. I have the manual for the "non-D" version of the lens, but need the "D" version manual. I suspect the english portion of the manual is 1 page or less. If someone has one and could scan the english page, I would appreciate it. I hate to shell out $15 for an instruction
