we don't say "hace" un gol... :p that sounds like if he had done it with his own hands :p hacer is usually for things done with hands :D like "hacer la cama", "hacer la comida"... make the bed, prepare lunch... we say "meter", "put in"... in football would be score :)
something in the last sentence looks strange. i think you didn't write the future. it can't be "mata mete un gol...", if you mean you think he will score. it would be "mata meterá un gol...) (mata will score a goal... )
