När man väl betalat och gått in i parkområdet så möts man av denna skylten ...
"Our shy snake
There is a copperhead snake sunning itself nearby
Copperhead Snakes are the only species of snake found on Phillip Island. Their patterns may vary from plain to banded and colouring ranges from a coppery brown, light-reddish brown to a grey or dark brown.
Copperhead Snakes are a protected species and a vital part of our environment. They are not known to be aggressive but will defend themselves when threatened.
They are a poisonous snake with no specific antivenom. If you see a Copperhead Snake please respect it by leaving it alone. Walking on established paths will make it less likely that you will disturb a snake.
If you are concerned please contact a ranger."
