A telling of the biblical tale, where Moses returns to Egypt to free the Hebrews from slavery.
When an oracle prophesizes that a child will become Prince of Egypt, a time of danger approaches the kingdom. The Egyptian Pharaoh orders the massacre of all newborn males. But one child, Moses-the son of a Hebrew slave-escapes certain death when he is set adrift on the Nile. As years pass, he is raised in a royal Egyptian household and, with no memory of his family, rises to the stature of prince. Upon discovery of his true heritage, and inspired by a fiery message from God, Moses embarks upon a noble and desperate fight to reclaim his destiny as the leader and liberator of the Hebrew people.
This was by far the worst movie that I have ever seen. Moses is about the most violent person ever. He must have killed at least two people with a rock up side the head. Then while he was trying to depart the sea he held the staff above his head and started to act like a baboon. It doesn't end there he also saw lava and predicted the atomic bomb. Then there was the whole thing with the fish swimming in the ocean. Then of course it took Moses and his people two to three days to get to the sea when it only to the Egyptians a mere couple of seconds to get there. And that was just the first part of the movie. I didn't even bother watch the rest it was so horrible. If you want a movie you can make fun of and laugh at then this is the movie other then that it sucks.
Historical unacurate.
This,clearly, is another example of the "Hollywood" mindset, trying to outdo an original movie, simply because of cgi graphics. Too often, movies are cranked out of the film industry under a host of, seemingly, underground, fly by night studio names, in a pathetic attempt to make money, simply by mesmerizing an ever-growing audience of drooling graphics-oriented imbeciles! This movie is no different. There is NO attempt to present another point of view, or shed new light on an age-old subject. These newer attempts at captivating audiences with a predominantly computer generated special effects, and then spicing it up with a "few actors" to round out the glorified cartoon,frankly...insults my intelligence. The fact that so many shallow people flock to this kind of drivel, and support these people, shows that we are digressing, as a species.
Give credit where credit is do, to a host of VERY talented film makers in 1956, who were able dazzle a far more sophisticated audience, with real story, dialogue, actors and several AMAZING special effects, that did NOT require some dweeb at a computer, cranking it out! If the original movie is a masterpiece, which this one clearly was, than why attempt to make a cheap copy with NO socially redeeming value?
