In a world where humans can bend the four elements, water, earth, fire, and air, the ruthless Fire Nation has engaged the rest of the world in a war that has lasted one hundred years. The world's only hope is the Avatar, the only one who can master all four elements. When the Avatar returns one hundred years later, a young Airbender named Aang, it's up to him to defeat the Fire Nation, and bring balance to the world.
When the hostile Fire Nation threatens to enslave the Water, Earth, and Air Nations, a reluctant and irresponsible boy must face his destiny as the Avatar, the Chosen One who can restore the world order. This new animated series centers on twelve-year-old Aang, who must forgo his selfish wandering to learn to master his latent powers over the four elements. Only then can he conquer the Firebenders, the evil nation that threatens the world.
i have been watching for the past five years or so as nick shows slowly faded from my mind. nick was either playing old and boring shows (come on, after what is it, six years, sponge bob is getting old!) or coming out with some stupid new ones (i.e. my life as a teenage robot and the x's) anyway, i'm not at all an anime fan and nick is no longer my favorite station so when avatar came out, i pushed it aside because i thought it would be another gay show with no plot. well, one day when the first season was about over, i was helping my brother clean the TV room and he told me to watch this show that he had watched for the past week. so, i skeptically watched it and found out that i loved it. that summer, i started watching every episode from the first to last. i am still hooked and can not wait for the third season to start. my brother and i waited for every Friday to come just so we could watch this show! it is a must see for anyone, no matter what age!
I don't know where everyone is in this show, but if you don't want to be spoiled for season three, Don't READ IT! okay um. . .who the hell came up with this show? no, I know who came up with it but really; I THANK YOU MIKE AND BRYAN! they've made such an awesome show, it's completely mind blowing. I've seen all three seasons, and am looking forward to seeing the movie, and I'm HOPING for a season four! This has such an amazing plot line! Aang and his friends have to save the world from some evil guy. Cliché right? but it's more than that! everything is planned out and well thought and so, particular! I like how Aang's already mastered air, but he still has to learn all the other elements, and he learns one in each season. I remember when the commercials came on I was like. "Oh God, another terrible Nick cartoon. Wonder how badly this one will flop." . . .yeah, I was hooked after two minutes, and a Kataanger (Aang and Katara Relationships supporter) before I knew Kataang was even an option.
Sokka totally blows my right mind. He's the sexist, prejudiced, sarcastic, skeptic comedy relief character. His expressions and body language crack me up every time. I know almost all of his lines in all three seasons.
Aang is a cutie. His fun-loving attitude and his crush on Katara is just a winner character. I know a lot of his lines too. I like season three Aang the most, because he's all flirty and fun and a lot like a teenager. I like how he just wants to be a kid but he can't be because of responsibilities and the weight of the world on his shoulders. And I like how he has a breakdown from time to time like normal people should. And he looks really hot bending all four elements at once.
Katara. . .i want to be her. She's got gorgeous blue eyes, she's pretty, she's a waterbender, and she's got a sweet guy like Aang crushing on her. Her character development was amazing! She's got a sweet but tough side to her, and that makes her look super amazing when she's waterbending, because she can be beautiful when she waterbends, or she can look bad-ass. Like when she was about to kill the guy that killed her mom in Southern Raiders! AGH! she looked hard core.
Toph is probably my favorite character. Her characteristics and her story are well thought out. Over-protective parents who keep her locked up, she runs away and says they let her go. Her spunky, sarcastic, blunt. . .very dry and funny humor gets me every time. And let's not forget she can bend metal?! how cool is that?! A twelve year old earthbending prodigy, and all because she's blind! wow! the story just has an amazing story line and amazing animation. 'Nuff said. . .i think.
The Legend of Korra debuted on Nickelodeon in USA on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT) with back-to-back episodes, with regular timeslot on Saturadays at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT). The arrow tattoos are thought to have originated as a sign of respect for the original Airbenders, the Sky Bison. An Airbender earns his or her arrow tattoos by mastering all 36 tiers of Airbending, or by mastering 35 and creating a new Airbending technique. Aang earned his by inventing the technique he calls the "Air Scooter". Yes In the commentary of the DVD of the last episode of the series the creators stated that after he defeated the Fire Lord and his eyes flashed the avatar state for only second he had become a fully realized Avatar Fire Lord Ozai confirmed that he banished Zuko's mother and that she may still be alive, but it is unsure. In the series finale, Fire Lord Zuko questions his father on the whereabouts of his mother, but the series ends before it is confirmed that she was found. Zuko finding Ursa was actually storyboarded for the finale by Avatar Director Joaquim Dos Santos, but was nixed by Mike DiMartino - not really sure why but this implies that Ursa most likely is alive. In 'The Legend of Korra' the children of Tenzin asks their grandmother, Katara, to tell the story about Zuko's mother, although she was willing to tell the full story, she got interrupted before telling the story.
However, a comic titled 'The Search' was released by Nickelodeon in 3 parts in 2013. The events take place between the end of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' and 'The Legend of Korra'. We learn that Ursa, Zuko's mother, returned to her home village of Hira'a after being banished by Ozai. There she found the man whom she was engaged to, Ikem, before being taken away to become Ozai's wife. She then learns of a spirit named The Mother of All Faces, and searches for her to receive a new face, and the spirit also removes almost all memories of her past life. When Zuko learns who his mother is now and finds her, The Mother of All Faces returns Ursa's original face and memories. a5c7b9f00b
