R.I.P

Your sister Rita called me and told me the heartbreaking news. That when the rain and mud flooded your house, you were trapped and suffocated. It broke me to hear, how you had made sure that Rita, Ina and your parents got out, even when it meant that you did not make it in time. Darling, you will always be remembered for the wonderful person you were, true, bright and loyal. To your family and me, you will always be a Bayanihan, a hero.
I never had the chance to meet you, and this I deeply regret. I met your sister Rita at an Anime Forum, and then I started talking to you and Ina over MSN too. I loved your friendship, and your humour. You were there for me during the times I was down or sad, and your silly little phrases always made me smile in the end. You were exceedingly bright, and I remember that your sisters always thought you studied too much. You told me once that you wanted to become a doctor, but did not know if you could make it. If you had lived through this, I am sure you would have.
So yes, even though I could never meet you, I enjoyed our long, and often rather silly, conversations, and will always remember them. Those times we shared, bullying Rita or just chatting along about life in general. It feels weird, knowing that I'll never see you online again. It hurts, but your loss was so much more than that. With your death, me, your family, and your other friends lost a ray of light in our lives, a friend, brother, son and soulmate. We will never see your smiling face again, but you will be remembered. Always.
"Smile, because it will make everything easier." Was your motto you told us all when we were down. Smile by Josh Groban was also your favourite song, which you constantly reminded us by sending it at every possible time. And to honour you and your family, I have included it here.
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile what’s the use of crying
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
When there are clouds in the sky
You’ll get by if you smile
And maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile what’s the use of crying
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
Whenever I hear it from now on, I shall always think of you. And I will always be inclined to cry, though I promise to try and smile instead. I am doing that exact thing this very moment, and I hope that the rest of your friends are doing the same. Because you hated seeing people cry. But to know that you are gone, and that you are now in heaven, is a cause to cry for.
