A detective from the year 2077 finds herself trapped in present day Vancouver and searching for ruthless criminals from the future.
Continuum is a one-hour police drama centered on Kiera Cameron, a regular cop from 65 years in the future who finds herself trapped in present day Vancouver. She is alone, a stranger in a strange land, and has eight of the most ruthless criminals from the future, known as Liber8, loose in the city. Lucky for Kiera, through the use of her CMR (cellular memory recall), a futuristic liquid chip technology implanted in her brain, she connects with Alec Sadler, a seventeen-year-old tech genius. When Kiera calls and Alec answers, a very unique partnership begins. Kiera's first desire is to get "home." But until she figures out a way to do that, she must survive in our time period and use all the resources available to her to track and capture the terrorists before they alter history enough to change the course of the future. After all, what's the point of going back if the future isn't the one you left?
With Fringe ending with Season 5, I think this will be a great replacement for it. I like that it contains some things that are original and not the same old stuff that other shows with the same topic have. Overall is very good and have good acting. With so many shows canceled this year and many finished their season, need it to have something to watch for the summer. I read some sites that are dedicated to giving information about TV shows. I'm glad I gave this one a try..was a little skeptic at first but with watching episode 2, I am hooked. I recommend you take a look as well. I hope they don't cancel this one too even though is very good and has great reviews and ratings. Enjoy!
I've just begun to watch Continuum on line. I'm about half through season 2. I find the program to be well written and produced, particularly for a secondary network production. Rachel Nichols is very believable, particularly when her character (Keira) is missing her son and longs to reconnect with her family. Sure, I noticed a technical inconsistency here and there but when you go back and compare, for instance, the first season of the original Star Trek to seasons 2 and 3, there are story or technical differences as well. That's always a challenge when dealing with science fiction. Regardless, I have found the series so far as interesting as Homeland or Dexter, two other well written cable series. I hope as I continue to view that the quality does not disappoint and I hope it does not become too convoluted like some of the Star Trek Ext Gen. spin offs did--you needed a score card to keep up towards the end there.
