A good version of Lex Luthor from a parallel Earth comes to the Justice League's dimension for help to fight their evil counterparts.
This is a pretty out of the box movie, to be honest. I never expected a movie that would focus on an earth where the Justice League are villains and the villains are the heroes.
I find it weird that in this earth Lex Luther is not the president but Slade Wilson is the president. Slade's daughter looks a lot like Megan Moores from Young Justice which I have to admit is cute but what scared me was that she is like (14-20) and she kisses Martian Manhunter before he leaves.
Jimmy Olsen is some bulky looking guy on this earth and the voice actor for the character was some weird casting.
Most of the casting for the movie was just weird like Wonder Women's voice sounded like Black Canary from Young Justice, The Flash's voice sounded a lot like Spiderman from The Spectacular Spider-Man and Hal Jordan's voice sounded like Nathan Drake from Uncharted which actually wasn't bad.
If you want to have an action-packed movie which is set on two earths I would recommend this movie.
I really like Justice League adventures, since they espouse the spirit of cooperation among the DC superheroes which I grew up with. My favorite DC comics in my childhood were my JLA comics. I really liked the recent revival of the JLA on TV. And now, I welcome these new mature animated JLA movies.
Crisis on Two Earths is exactly what the title tells us. There are two Earths in this movie. This Earth where the JLA lives in, and a parallel Earth where the characters are reversed. The JLA counterparts are part of the nefarious Crime Syndicate (Ultraman, Owlman, Superwoman, Johnny Quick Man and Power Ring), while Lex Luthor and the Joker are the self-sacrificing heroes.
It is very good to see the various guest appearances of other superheroes in this movie, like the Black Canary, Aquaman, as well as evil analogues of Green Arrow (in red) and the Elongated Man. It is good to see my favorite character, the Martian Manhunter, also have a featured part, and even a love interest!
As with several other JLA adventures, the Batman had the meatiest part, together with his alter-ego, Owlman. Toward the end, the future of the two Earths actually lay in their philosophical and physical entanglements. This scene, as well as the rest of this movie, was very well-written and set into animation. The voice acting was sensitive and very well-done.
In Owlman's appearance in The Brave And The Bold cartoon, he was merely an evil version of Batman (and both were voiced by Diedrich Bader), as were all the other counterparts to their respective personas.
In the comics, Owlman is Thomas Wayne Jr., the older brother of his universe's Bruce Wayne. In this universe, it is Bruce and his mother Martha who are killed (by a corrupt cop). Thomas Jr. blamed his father for their deaths and escaped the crime scene with Joe Chill, who, in the main universe, is the thug who killed Bruce Wayne's parents. He later grew up to be the masked criminal Owlman (implied to have used drugs to speed up his training), providing assistance against the Gotham Police to Boss Gordon (the criminal counterpart to Commissioner Gordon) and fighting against his father, who had become the Commissioner of the Gotham Police in his universe in order to stop his son.
Owlman, like Batman, is the brains behind his group, the Crime Syndicate. Cold and calculating, he even manages an affair with Superwoman (the alternate version of Mary Marvel) who is married to Ultraman (the alternate version of Superman).
It is also worthy to note that he is not the only alternate universe member who has a differing backstory and character with his own counterpart. a5c7b9f00b
