18 Jan 2015 As my favorite guns are all hammer action, I will have to choose between manual safety vs decocker at some point. I know there are some threads about which is 'better' for contest shooting; my goal is to understand where a safety might be beneficial in production class (from a safety standpoint) so that I
I love CZ's but one thing I found was when shooting thumbs toward like I do the decocker digs into my thumb. Not an issue when riding the safety. And no the decock doesn't drop the hammer all the way. All CZ's run from half cock unless you thumb thee hammer all the way down. Not an issue but different
9 Aug 2017 While the lever decocks the pistol, it doesn't put the pistol on “safe;" the double-action trigger pull acts as a hedge against accidental discharges. Sig Sauer's double-action service pistols all feature decockers, and decocker-only models are available from Beretta, H&K and CZ. Since the latter doesn't
17 Feb 2008 In a broad general sense are are most likely better off with a decock over a manual safety pistol for most shooting sports when dealing with a DA/SA pistol Unfortunately, I know more about the CZ product line than the competition rules as you and others said, this might not be considered "hammer down"
13 Apr 2012 Location: WI. Posts: 3,588. IMO The safety lends itself to future upgrades as well. such as a target trigger etc. CZ Custom won't put them in decocker models for obvious reasons. SP-01 in DA/SA so if you wanna have it safety off and hammer down its still ready to go, or you can cock and lock it like a 1911.
The handguns in the CZ line employ 2 different primary or active safety mechanisms: the manual safety or the decocking lever. Both of these With the safety lever equipped versions of the CZ 75 family, the shooter has the option to carry with the hammer back and safety on (cocked and locked) or after manually decocking.

Looking for some general information about decocking Lever VS manual safety on a CZ handgun. I have been itching to buy a CZ ever since I saw a In many divisions of competition the DA/SA models must start loaded with the hammer down. Now, if you want it for a carry gun then I think the decocker
31 Jan 2011 Personally, I feel the decoker model to be easy since you don't have to fiddle with the safety control, worry about it snagging and accidently going into "Fire" modeand when needed, just pull the trigger (like Sig or Revolver) and it goes Bang! I'm not a fan of cocked and locked (with one in chamber). So, plz
30 Nov 2011 You may get surprized to find that after one installs Competition hammer, manual safety on CZ will engage with hammer down too. It's due to sear/hammer/safety geometry. As far as decocker vs manual safety, I come from my first HG being one with decocker and still think PCR, P-01 or so is a better option
